“Mission Statement of the Valley of Dallas”

It is the Mission of the Valley of Dallas to improve its members and enhance the communities in which we live by education and in community activities by emulating the principles of Brotherly Love, Tolerance, Charity, and Truth.

We will always embrace high social, moral and spiritual values in our fellowship within and without the Cathedral with compassion for each other and dedication to the GAOTU, our families and our Country.

Scottish Rite Creed

Human progress is our cause, liberty of thought our supreme wish, freedom of conscience our mission, and the guarantee of equal rights to all people everywhere our ultimate goal.

Scottish Rite Bodies

Each Valley has up to four Scottish Rite bodies, and each body confers a set of degrees. In the Southern Jurisdiction these are the Lodge of Perfection (4°–14°), Chapter of Rose Croix (15°–18°), Council of Kadosh (19°–30°), and the Consistory (31°–32°). The Supreme Council confers the 33rd Degree of Sovereign Grand Inspector General.

Appendant Bodies

The Scottish Rite is one of the two branches of Freemasonry in which a Master Mason may proceed after he has completed the three degrees of Symbolic or Blue Lodge Masonry. The other branch is known as the York Rite, consisting of Royal Arch Masons, Royal and Select Masters and the Knights Templar.

Dallas Scottish Rite

The Scottish Rite has been called the “University” of Freemasonry. In the Scottish Rite, we have the chance to embrace a broad and sweeping education in the morals and ethics of Freemasonry. Freedom of thought and expression are cornerstones of our fraternity. Self-improvement is our goal.

Dallas is the largest Valley in the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States. Located in downtown Dallas at the corner of Harwood and Young Streets, the Cathedral was erected in the early 1900s by a group of Scottish Rite Masons with a great vision for the future. Here we celebrate the glory of the wisdom of the Grand Architect of the Universe in our aim to further human progress. We invite you to visit us and find out what we have to offer. We are proud of our heritage.
